Tell me a little bit about you both. How did you meet?

We both met online but were also going to UCF at the time. I was majoring in nursing while Sam majored in Political Science so we never ran into each other on campus, but we probably crossed paths at a football game before we formally met.

What was your favorite floral element from your wedding?

All the flowers were beautiful! I think my favorite floral element was the bride bouquet because I think it perfectly captured the vibe and vision I had for the wedding. The boutonnières the groomsmen wore were also a great element and captured the color palette while only being small blooms.

How did you find your venue and why did you choose it over others?

We found the Dr. Phillips House on the Knot and came up with good reviews. When we toured it, the venue felt right and knew immediately we wanted to get married there. It fit the vibe we wanted for the wedding. Although it’s a little on the pricey side, it fit our budget and included catering and an included night in one of their hotel rooms. We also didn’t have to rent any chairs, linen, plateware, etc. because it was all included.

What was the most stressful part of the wedding planning process, and do you have any suggestions for other couples to avoid that?

About a couple months before the wedding, we were trying to buy the condo we rented at the time only to be told we have a week to move out due to mold, so we had to find temporary housing for about a month before we closed on a house we were trying to buy. I recommend not buying a house or going through major transitions while also wedding planning if you’re able to avoid it (we couldn’t so we had to do both at the same time lol). Not only the physical stress of moving, I also had to be very careful with my finances when applying for a mortgage, so I was unable to afford/buy vendors for the wedding until about a month out.

I also HIGHLY recommend a day of coordinator. Having one made the day of run smoothly and stress free. She also helped me plan stuff that I hadn’t thought to plan for.

Tell me about an unexpected special moment that happened on your wedding day.

We decided to do a final private dance with just the two of us. At first we weren’t gonna do one, then we decided to do it because why not. Even though at the point in the day I had sweated all my makeup off and changed into a pair of crocs, while Sam had taken off everything except his dress shirt, it was a special, intimate moment where we could appreciate that we were finally married. It made us realize how lucky we are to have found someone we love deeply.
